This custom built display stand was produced for Kinspan Century for their participation at the Self-Build exhibition in Galway. This stand is complete with flatscreen TVs mounted on designline display stands, as well as a lockable centre tower with solid modular panels. It’s also great value for money because the stand is re-usable and re-configurable too!

Applied Signs and Display have created a unique and exciting graphic display system for the new TV3 Group production “FYI”. This new fast-paced programme, broadcast on 3e weeknights at 6, reports on such subjects as sports, entertainment and the latest downloads.
The stand we have produced is one of the latest XPlus XPlorers by Nomadic. The stand is 2.4 x 2.4 m and the graphics are printed on durable yet flexible stretch fabric. The system packs away quite small in a light shoulder bag and therefore is easily transportable. Visit our website to see more examples of great quality portable stands.

Just came across a stash of photos of finished jobs that my colleagues had taken through the years – none of these photos have been featured on our website or blog, so I couldn’t resist posting them up here as a little mini retrospective of some of the nicest jobs we have done… First, the banner stands (or pull up signs, banner signs, roller banners…they have been called many things through the years!)…

Nomadic Display have picked up a prestigious Green/Sustainable Design Award in the American Corporate Identity Awards. The win was especially precious for Nomadic Display, as they beat entries from wide range of media traditionally thought to be more environmentally friendly than exhibiting, including advertising and collateral.
Made from renewable/recyclable bamboo, 100% post-consumer waste/100% recyclable laminates, 100% post-consumer waste/100% recyclable carpet, and 100% recyclable celtic cloth/water based ink graphics, this display is a result of Nomadic’s long-standing efforts to create the ‘green’-est display stands possible: Even standard Nomadic Display portable stands adhere to sound standards:
- All Aluminum pop up frames and components are fabricated with 80% post-consumer recycled content
- Velcro®-compatible fabrics contain polyester made from 100% certified, post-consumer recycled plastic bottles.
- Reduced its company-wide consumption of paper for communications, transactions, management, and record-keeping systems by half in the past year.
- Promotional materials are printed on 100% recycled, elemental chlorine-free paper products certified by the international Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
The winning exhibit, named ‘Dream Green’, also won Best Trade Show Display in the American Corporate Identity Awards.

Believe it or not Summer is in full swing and this means festivals, outdoor events and fun gatherings of every type taking place all over the country. Events diverse as the Temple Bar Chocolate Festival, The Ukulele Hooley Festival and The Mexican Food Festival will combine with old favourites such as Electric Picnic and the Dun Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures to entice us out into the changeable weather for some Summery fun.
With so many consumers milling around in festive humour these events provide a super opportunity for brands to sponsors these events, or for vendors to attract visitors to their area. Yet the very circumstances that make these events so attractive for promotion and marketing make them a little tricky too: the more people there to catch glimpse of your brand, product or message, the harder it is to stand out and be seen. What’s more, the outdoor and temporary nature of festivals and the like presents a challenge – what portable products are sturdy enough for outdoor use, yet tall enough to be seen, and pretty/funky/adaptable enough to uphold your corporate image?
Well here are a few options proving popular at the moment:
Portable Flags
Whether Teardrop shape, Feather shape, or Traditional rectangular, Portable Flags and Poles are a must have for outdoor and indoor events a like. A great investment buy and available from 2m to 5.5m tall, in glorious digitally printed full colour to photographic quality.

Giantpole portable flags and flagpoles - up to 5.4m tall

IIB Teardrop Portable Flags - perfect for festivals and outdoor events
Outdoor Banner Stands
Like their indoor counterparts, Outdoor Banner Stands are convenient, versatile and eye catching. Panels are outdoor grade PVC vinyl with digital print and can be interchanged for years and years of future events. Like Portable Flags and Flagpoles, these can be used inside and out.

Branding Your Tent/Kiosk/Trailer
And what if the organisers have prohibited you from placing free-standing signage or flags around your tent or promotional trailer?
Consider a graphic wrap or adhesive signage: possibilities are much the same as on any vehicle or shop window.

You will be glad to know that all the above items are rain-proof!

Earlier this month the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions held their ‘Living and Working in Europe Event‘ at the European Parliament. Applied Signs & Display’s involvement was to produce and set up various portable displays at the parliament buildings in Brussels.
Topics covered at the event included migration, flexicurity, active aging and working time.
This was an impressive job which used the space and light of the building well, and by all accounts it was fun to set up too (especially for the alpinists who hung the hanging signs!).

Our work has once again appeared in TV3′s The Apprentice, and God were we proud! Our Swift Banner Stand produced for Temple Street Children’s Hospital was placed beside finalist Nicky as she made her introductory speech. It didn’t help her to win the series but Nicky’s team raised €18000+ for the hospital during the charity auction, and we like to think that the curl-resistant, ultra-matte finish Swift Banner didn’t hurt!
We can also be seen on your screens at the moment, on the ad for Jason Byrne’s new DVD, The Byrne Identity. We produced the colourful backdrop stand – its amzing how versatile and imposing a simple flat pop up stand can be.
